A Night to Remember: My First Prom Photoshoot at Sneaton Castle, Whitby

As a photographer, I love photographing all kinds of events, but this year I had the opportunity to photograph my very first prom – and what a fantastic evening it was!

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Sneaton Castle near Whitby, the atmosphere you could really feel the anticipation as everyone gathered before celebrating such an important milestone.

One of my favourite parts of the evening had to be the incredible vehicle parade. The effort everyone had gone to was amazing, and it made each arrival completely unique. There were ice cream vans, ambulances, HGV wagons, classic vintage Minis, stunning E-Type Jaguars and so many other fantastic vehicles.

I always believe photography is about more than simply taking pictures. It's about preserving memories that people will look back on years from now, remembering not only how they looked, but how they felt. The excitement, the nerves, the laughter and the pride all deserve to be remembered.

Being a female photographer, I know that many people appreciate having someone who helps them feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. Whether I'm photographing families, weddings, headshots, sporting events or occasions like this, my aim is always the same – to create a fun, natural environment where personalities can shine through.

If you're planning a prom, leavers' event or another celebration in North Yorkshire, I'd love to help capture those memories for you.
